Storage Of Medicine:

After administering your medication, place prefilled syringes back in the refrigerator as indicated. Be careful to lay syringes flat so that they don’t get bumped and possibly leak medication.

Instructions:

  1. Wash hands
  2. Select the site of injection.
    A. Injection is to be given 2 inches away from the belly button, either
    to the right or the left. You may also go below the belly button,
    but not above. (Feel free to discuss with your provider the option
    of alternative injection sites)
    B. Alternate sides every week when administering injection.
  3.  After selecting the injection site, sanitize it with an alcohol swab and
    let it dry.
  4. Carefully remove the needle cap from prefilled syringe, while pinching
    the skin, insert the needle and gradually administer the injection.
  5. Dispose of the used needle and syringe in a proper disposal container.
    (Ex. Empty detergent container, or any strong, plastic container.)
